Free Peer Tutoring in a Coffee Bar Setting
FREE HOMEWORK HELP AVAILABLE IN CENTRAL ORANGE COUNTY!!
Surf Central is a free homework help center located in a coffee-bar style setting, complete with computers, snacks and WiFi. Advanced placement students from Fountain Valley High School provide peer tutoring, supervised by screened adults.
---High school students welcome from 3 PM to 6 PM every Thursday (except holiday weeks).
---Middle school students welcome from 3 PM to 6 PM every Wednesday (except holiday weeks).
Surf Central is located at 10460 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA, inside the coffee shop at Coastal Community Fellowship, and is open to all students regardless of income, race or religious affiliation.

DONATE A DAY AND GO TO DISNEYLAND FOR FREE!!
Surf Central volunteers who sign-up to help students with their homework can get a free one-day pass to Disneyland, starting January 1, 2010.
It's part of the "Give a Day. Get a Disney Day" program and here's how it works:
Pre-screened volunteers can log onto the Disney Parks web site, search for Surf Central, and sign-up for a day and shift, approved by Surf Central coordinator, Jennifer Bauman-Roy (jabauman@aol.com). Once your service is verified, you will get an Email voucher to redeem at Disneyland, on a day of your choice.

**For "newbies," you're welcome to stop by and checkout the facility to see if this volunteer opportunity is a good fit. Assuming you're still interested, you can pick up paperwork for a mandatory background check, and fingerprint scan, that costs $16.00.**
Once you're approved, you can sign-up for a shift, and take part in the Disney Day opportunity.
As a regular volunteer, you'll be asked to serve a minimum of one shift a month between 3:00 to 4:30 PM, or 4:30 to 6:00 PM on a Wednesday and/or Thursday.

Surf Central is an outreach of the Community Central Foundation, a registered 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Donations are needed to cover a variety of expenses.
Can you help out with any of the following?
--Software and Licensing Fees $2,500/year
--Liability Insurance $1,200/year
--Coffee Bar Supplies $2,000/year
--Promotion & Web Hosting $ 500/year
All donations are tax-deductible (Tax ID# 20-8811980). When you click the secure "Donate Now" link, you can make a donation, using your credit card and receive an IRS-approved electronic receipt which you can print and save for your records.
You can also write a personal check, made out to the Community Central Foundation, and mail it to 10460 Slater Avenue, Fountain Valley, CA 92708. You will receive a receipt in the mail.
